Environment

Sustainable design principles have a wide range of applications but their objectives are simple, reduce the use of non-renewable resources and minimize environmental impact.  Recognizing that we are just one part of a collaborative process, Dynamic has responded to these important challenges with a common sense approach that maximizes both economic and environmental performance.

Wood

Dynamic supports responsible forest management and offers Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) certified wood species.   As an approved manufacturer, we are able to provide the FSC® certificate number for products manufactured from Alaskan Yellow Cedar, Douglas Fir, Accoya or Genuine Mahogany.   Dynamic also offers a way to avoid using any newly cut timber by searching the continent and purchasing rare reclaimed timber (available upon request and subject to market availability).

Steel & Sustainability

Clearly steel’s unique benefits are making a comeback as a viable material for all types of fenestration. Steel’s sustainability credentials are second to none and here’s just a few reasons to support specifying thermally broken Steel-Arte windows and doors into your next project.

  • Research has shown that 99% of steel is recycled at the end of the product life. This means that a steel window & doors specified today is unlikely to ever become waste.
  • Every year over 440 million tonnes of steel are recycled around the world. To provide context, this would be the equivalent of recycling 150 Eiffel Towers every day.
  • All new steel is made with a significant recycled content. Modern steel making requires recycled steel content in the production process.
  • Most major steel producers recycle approximately 3 million tonnes of steel scrap each year, saving CO-2 emissions equivalent to those produced by almost a million households.
  • Research has shown that 99% of steel is recycled at the end of the product life. This means that a steel window & doors specified today is unlikely to ever become waste.
  • Dynamic Architectural Steel-Arte thermally broken steel window out-performs its competitors in both thermal performance and lifecycle, enabling home owners to save energy while heating and cooling their homes, reducing the carbon footprint with more efficient thermal performance.
  • Dynamic Architectural has chosen finishing materials that reduce odors and off-gases using water based low-VOC compliant paints and stains. The use of our low-VOC Kynar Aquatec® coating or European 3-part Low VOC stains can extend a building’s lifecycle and reduce maintenance costs.

Simply stated, environmental stewardship remains a core value in the selection of materials and manufacturing processes. Help preserve the environment and feel good about your choices.
