Lamboo - Engineered Bamboo

Lamboo options Lamboo is an engineered bamboo product that is used primarily for architectural and structural applications, and is structurally superior to its wood counterparts. With three grain and two color choices available it is not only structurally stable but aesthetically pleasing.

Why Bamboo?

Bamboo is one of the fastest growing plants in the world and sequesters 35% more carbon than its tree counter parts. Lamboo is produced from only mature plants, anywhere from their 4th to 6th year of life to allow for optimal hardness and strength. The growth rate and potential offered by bamboo make it a great resource for the construction industry.

Bamboo as a lingo-cellulosic fiber can be processed into products with enormous advantages in mechanical properties. In its engineered form laminated bamboo provides great durability, uniformity, and strength. Through species and adhesive selection, and proprietary lamination processes, Lamboo, Inc. is leading the structural engineered bamboo industry.

The process of engineering bamboo into the Lamboo product requires 15% less embodied energy than that of engineered wood and 300% less embodied energy than aluminum and steel. Lamboo on average is 20% more stable than wood in moisture and temperature changes, 10 times stronger than wood in tension and 3 times stronger mechanically.

Lamboo bi-folding doorThe Lamboo VUE™ for Windows and Doors

Lamboo VUE™ is a new wood LAMBOO VUE™ components have great thermal properties, strength, durability, and contain water resistant attributes that make this Lamboo product line ideal for architectural applications requiring high performance met with natural beauty.

Lamboo is on the forefront with pioneering technology of engineered bamboo which makes VUE™ window and door components a superior performance alternative within these systems. Lamboo materials are up to 20% more stable than hardwoods in moisture & temperature changes, and up to 40% more stable than softwoods such as pine & douglas fir. VUE™  components have up to 3x the structural rigidity that allows for more flexibility within window & door system designs and profiles.

Characteristics:

  • Premium Bamboo Species
Lamboo Inc has isolated 4 out of the 1600 species of bamboo to ensure the highest performance & uniformity for all of its architectural and structural applications.

  • High Dimensional Stability
Lamboo Vue components are up to 40% more stable than softwoods such as pine or douglas fir and on average 20% more stable than hardwoods.

  • Machinability
No additional tools or machinery are necessary when machining Lamboo. It mills, sands, and finishes similar to hardwoods.

  • Resists Pests & Insects
Bamboo has a chemical makeup that is extremely dense and includes silica fibers which resists insects and wood eating pests such as termites.

  • Anti-Microbial Properties
Bamboo is a naturally anti-bacterial material, and now with Lamboo Technology integration, our products prevents mold and fungi from cultivating.

  • Non-Toxic Product
Lamboo products use low V.O.C. adhesives and does not produce off-gassing when profiling, sanding, and handling materials.
